Nita Lake Lodge: Our New Favourite Stay in Whistler
When it comes to Whistler getaways, Nita Lake Lodge has officially stolen our hearts. Tucked away in Creekside on the shores of a glacier-fed lake, it offers the perfect balance of luxury and family-friendly comfort. We’ve stayed in Whistler dozens of times, but this was the first trip where a hotel truly made us feel at home — and it’s safe to say we’ve found our new favourite.
First Impressions
That signature scent in the lobby immediately sets the tone: calm, welcoming, and a little indulgent. The check-in process was seamless — we even received a text the morning of arrival with all our details and a direct line to message the front desk during our stay.
When we arrived, we got the best surprise of all: an upgrade to the Lake View Two-Bedroom Loft Suite. And let me tell you, it was incredible.
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Nita Lake
Two king beds and two of the most spacious ensuite bathrooms I’ve ever seen — one with a tub for two framed by a lake view
A beautiful patio perfect for slow mornings and sunset drinks
We knew right away this was going to be a special stay.
Pool, Sauna & Cold Plunges
Once we settled in, we slipped into our plush robes and headed for the pool area. The setup here is fantastic:
A heated pool
Hot tub
Wood barrel sauna
Easy lake access for cold plunges
Matt and I took turns watching the kids so we could really enjoy the sauna, and then we all braved a chilly dip in the lake (I may have tricked Aspen into the first plunge, but she loved it!). It felt like the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.
Dining at Nita
Nita has two amazing restaurants, both overlooking the lake:
The Cure Lounge & Patio – Laid-back, family-friendly, and our go-to spot for patio nights, smoothies, and post-adventure ice cream.
The Den – Elevated dining in an intimate setting. Thanks to Whistler Babysitting, Matt and I were able to sneak in a date night here, and it was absolutely worth it.
Spa Time
Another perk of babysitting? A much-needed mini spa day. We both booked the Nita Signature Experience and it was incredible — treatments that combine massage and body work with full access to their private rooftop hot tubs, sauna, and steam rooms.
The rooftop alone is worth it: mountain views, quiet atmosphere, and the kind of relaxation you only get when you know the kids are happily entertained elsewhere.
Slow Mornings
Mornings at Nita are a treat. We brewed in-room Nespresso, ordered room service, and lingered over coffee and breakfast on our patio while the sun sparkled on the lake. No rushing, no stress — just the kind of mornings you dream about when you plan a family getaway.
On the Lake
Staying at Nita comes with complimentary use of their canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. We took the whole family out on the canoe and it was such a fun way to see the lake. Calm, peaceful, and right at your doorstep.
Exploring by Bike
Nita is incredibly bike-friendly, and the valley trail network is right outside the door. We spent afternoons pedalling between lakes and playgrounds, totally avoiding the busy roads and village chaos. For families, this was huge — safe trails, happy kids, and endless spots to stop and play.
Hiking & Alpine Adventures
If hiking is more your speed, Nita is perfectly located for adventure. We hopped on the gondola for alpine hikes around Blackcomb, and there are dozens of trailheads within a short drive from Creekside. Whether you’re looking for a quick stroll or a challenging climb, you’ve got options.
We even took the free Nita shuttle up to the village for the Mountain Top Feast at Roundhouse Lodge (part of our Summer Experience Pass), which I wrote about in our Whistler summer blog.
This stay at Nita Lake Lodge was everything we wanted — and more. From the thoughtful service touches to the family-friendly amenities, the lakefront location to the elevated dining, it struck the perfect balance of luxury and relaxation.
For years, our Whistler trips were tied to the Fairmont Chateau. It’s still a beautiful property, but after this experience, Nita simply makes more sense for our family.
We left already planning our return, and I have a feeling this is going to become our family’s go-to Whistler spot for years to come.
